Did you know that in 1776, the colony of New Jersey approved the Declaration on July 2? And did you know that on July 8th, Trenton was one of only three places where the Declaration was first read in public?

To celebrate these momentous events and the 4th of July weekend, the capital city presents “Heritage Week,” a commemoration of New Jersey’s unique contributions as “The Crossroads of the American Revolution.”

July 2:

City block party presented by the City of Trenton; Barrack and State Streets

July 4: “E Pluribus Unum” Cultural Heritage Parade and Festival

10-5 Reopening of the Old Barracks

11:30 Parade starts at City Hall

12:30 Ceremony at Battle Monument

12–6 Picnic and program Mill Hill Park

6pm – Baseball and Fireworks presented by Trenton Thunder

July 6-7

July 8

Noon – 250th Annual City Proclamation of the Declaration of Independence, presented by Trenton Kiwanis and the City of Trenton.

6PM – Nationwide Proclamation of the Declaration of Independence by all States and Territories, followed by a concert by the Blawenburg Band.
