Jay and the Americans continue to be led onto the stage by founding members Sandy Deanne and Marty Sanders, long-time lead singer Jay Reinecke, new addition Darren Dowler (former lead singer of Paul Revere and the Raiders), and their great backup band. Jay and the Americans had 12 top 10 charted records from 1962-1971, including “She Cried,” “Only in America,” “Come a Little Bit Closer,” “Cara Mia,” “This Magic Moment,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” and “Walkin’ in the Rain.” Always an STNJ favorite, you’ll see why they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.

The Grass Roots had many hit singles in the late ’60s and early ’70s, including three Top 10, six Top 20, and 14 Top 40 hits, two gold albums, and sold more than 20 million records worldwide. Hits include “Where Were You When I Needed You,” “Let’s Live for Today,” “Midnight Confession,” “I’d Walk a Million Miles,” “Temptation Eyes,” “Sooner or Later,” “Heaven Knows,” and Two Divided by Love.” In 1982, they performed on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on July 4, to a crowd of over half a million fans.

The Lovin’ Spoonful had seven consecutive Top 10 hits, and only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones sold more records in 1966 than the Spoonful. Hits include “Do You Believe in Magic,” “What a Day for a Daydream,” “Summer in the City,” “Did you Ever have to Make up Your Mind,” “You Didn’t have to be so Nice,” “Rain on the Roof,” “Darlin Be Home Soon,” “Six O’Clock,” and “Nashville Cats.” In 2000, they were i
