Passaic County is anchored by Paterson – one of the most historically significant industrial cities in America. Alexander Hamilton designed it: the Great Falls National Historical Park preserves the 77-foot waterfall that powered the nation’s first planned industrial city, and the surrounding area is having a real revival. The food scene in Paterson is serious, some of the best Middle Eastern and Peruvian cooking in the entire state is right here. Head north and Ringwood State Park offers hiking, a historic manor house, and scenery that surprises people every time.
